Friends of Western Promenade (FoWP) is a new organization committed to the preservation and rehabilitation of Olmsted’s historic Western Promenade. As we work towards developing a master plan for the restoration of this unique park, we are collaborating with city officials, neighborhood associations, residents and local businesses.
Our Mission: The Friends of Western Promenade is a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring and preserving Portland’s historic Western Promenade for public benefit:
¬It will be the primary advocate for the Western Promenade
¬It will be a point source for information and/or education on the Western Promenade
¬It will assist in the creation a “Master Plan” for the Western Promenade
¬It will raise funds for significant deferred maintenance and/or capital improvements identified in the Master Plan
¬It will collaborate with the City of Portland on the prioritization and implementation of projects identified in the Master Plan
